Columbus Grove falls in double overtime

COLUMBUS GROVE - Lincolnview outscored Columbus Grove in the second overtime Friday night to post a 59-57 Northwest Conference win.The visiting Lancers outscored the Bulldogs 30-26 in the second half to force overtime after Columbus Grove had a 23-19 halftime lead. Both teams scored four points in the first overtime before the Lancers outscored the Bulldogs 6-4 in the second overtime.
Eli Farmer had 15 points to lead the Lancers (6-3) and Kyle Williams had 14 points.
Will Vorhees had a double-double for the Bulldogs (1-1, 6-3) with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Jace Darbyshire had 13 points and Riley Brubaker had 11 points and nine rebounds.
Columbus Grove won the junior varsity game 36-34.
LEIPSIC - McComb was nearly perfect from the free throw in overtime Friday night as the Panthers topped Leipsic 69-63 in Blanchard Valley Conference action.
The Panthers hit 11-of-14 free throw shots in overtime as they were led by Clay Grubb with a 7-of-8 performance. Chas Shoop and Drew Siferd both went 2 for 2 at the line in overtime. McComb outscored the Vikings 11-5 for the win. Zach Kuhlman had a three-pointer for the Vikings in overtime and Jordan Brown scored a basket.
Leipsic outscored McComb 17-16 in the fourth period to force overtime.
Grubb had 25 points and 11 rebounds for the Panthers, while Trey Hanes had 14 points and Taylor Reardon had 13 points.
Zach Kuhlman paced the Vikings (3-1 BVC) with a game high 28 points as he had six three-pointers. Gavin Cupp added 13 points and Jordan Brown pulled down 12 rebounds.
Fort Jennings 33
KALIDA - Kalida outscored Fort Jennings over the final three quarters to claim a 48-33 Putnam County League win.
The Musketeers had a 13-12 lead after one before the Wildcats used a 10-7 run in the second quarter for a 22-20 halftime lead. A 14-7 run in the third quarter by Kalida put them in charge of the game.
Devin Kortokrax had 21 points to lead Kalida, while Randy Zeller had 13 points and Joe Gerdeman 11 points.
Nick Von Sossan and Josh Wittler both had eight points for the Musketeers.
Kalida won the junior varsity game 43-27.
Miller City 51
MILLER CITY - Miller City grabbed an early lead Friday night as the Wildcats downed Continental 51-34 in Putnam County League action.
The Wildcats grabbed an 11-5 first quarter lead as they outscored the Pirates in every quarter. A 16-9 run in the third quarter helped Miller City seal the win.
Jackson Lammers and Adam Drummelsmith both had 12 points to lead the Wildcats, while Jacob Gerten had 11 points and Adam Niese 10 points. Drummelsmith also had nine rebounds for Miller City.
Wade Stauffer had 15 points for the Pirates. Joey Swager and Gabe Williams both had four rebounds for the Pirates.
Miller City won the junior varsity game 46-19.
Upper Scioto Valley 43
OTTOVILLE - Upper Scioto Valley dominated the fourth quarter as the Rams claimed a 43-35 non-league win from Ottoville.
The Big Green had a 29-26 lead going to the fourth quarter before the Rams outscored them 17-6 for the win.
Dylan Hunsicker led the Rams with 13 points and Lane Hurley had 12 points.
Luke Schimmoeller led the Big Green and all scorers with 20 points. Kyle Bendele added eight points.
Upper Scioto Valley won the junior varsity game 30-27.
