COLUMBUS GROVE - Spencerville scored a pair of fourth quarter touchdowns Friday night to help them defeat Columbus Grove 39-27 in Northwest Conference action at Clymer Stadium.

The Bulldogs pulled within 27-21 when David Bogart returned a kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown. The score stayed that way until the fourth quarter when the Bearcats scored early in the quarter.
Spencerville created space between themselves the Bulldogs (0-3, 0-5) when Anthony Schuh scored on an 11 yard run with 10:43 left to play.
The Bearcats sealed the win seven minutes later when Colton Miller scored on a 12 yard run with 3:48 left to make the score 39-21 as the extra point failed. The Bulldogs added a late touchdown when Mason Smith caught a 55 yard scoring pass from Riley Brubaker. The two-point conversion pass failed.
Spencerville took a 7-0 lead with 8:07 left in the first quarter as Schuh scored on a 21 yard run and Logan Vandemark kicked the extra point.
Bogart quickly got the Bulldogs on the scoreboard as he returned the kickoff 89 yards for a score and when Joey Warnecke kicked the extra point the game was tied at 7-7.
A one yard run by Miller with 1:10 left in the quarter gave the Bearcats a 14-7 lead as the extra point was good.
Schuh scored the only touchdown of the second quarter as Schuh scored on a three yard run and Vandemark kicked the extra point.
Warnecke pulled the Bulldogs within 21-13 as he scored on an 83 yard run seconds into the third quarter. The Bearcats answered back with a Schuh one yard run with 9:23 left in the quarter.
Warnecke finished the night with 142 yards rushing for the Bulldogs on 16 carries. Brubaker was 9-of-25 passing for 138 yards as Bogart caught three passes for 44 yards and Aiden Fortman four passes for 33 yards. Smith had one catch for 55 yards.
Schuh rushed for 196 yards for the Bearcats on 27 carries, while Hunter Hardesty had 139 yards on 13 carries and Miller 109 yards on 24 carries.
