COLUMBUS GROVE - Riley Brubaker accounted for 300 yards of offense for Columbus Grove Friday night as the Bulldogs hosted Bluffton in Northwest Conference action at Clymer Stadium.

Despite Brubaker's big night, the Bulldogs were unable to defeat the Pirates as they fell 23-19.
Columbus Grove finishes the season at 2-8.
Brubaker finished the night with 327 yards of offense as he was 17-of-31 passing for 210 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 117 yards on 15 carries with a score. Overall the Bulldogs had 391 yards of total offense.
Columbus Grove had a 19-15 lead at the half, but the Pirates were the only team to score in the second half.
They scored with 11:09 left to play when Robbie Stratton caught a 17 yard scoring pass from Mitchell Ault. An Austin Brickner run gave the Pirates a 23-19 lead and that's how it ended.
The Pirates took a 7-0 lead 10 seconds into the second quarter as Robbie Stratton returned an interception 48 yards for a score.
Columbus Grove came back to get the lead as Mason Smith caught a 65 yard pass from Brubaker as the Bulldogs trailed 7-6. Brubaker then added a 77 yard scoring run with 6:34 left in the first half for a 12-7 Bulldog lead.
Bluffton scored as Levi Kistler caught a 18 yard pass from Ault and Noah Stratton caught a two-point conversion pass for a 15-12 lead.
The Bulldogs took the lead into halftime as Bailey Clement caught a three yard pass from Brubaker with 10 second left in the half. Mason Smith kicked the extra points.
Alec Gladwell rushed for 54 yards for the Bulldogs, while Smith caught six passes for 116 yards and David Bogart caught eight passes for 86 yards.
Ault was 9-of-14 passing for the Pirates for 134 yards and two scores. Noah Stratton rushed for 44 yards for the Pirates and Robbie Stratton caught four passes for 46 yards.
