COLUMBUS GROVE — Columbus Grove erased an early deficit on their way to a 12-2 Northwest Conference softball win over Spencerville Friday afternoon.
The Bearcats took a quick 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning only to see the Bulldogs bounce back with four runs in the bottom of the inning. Columbus Grove added run in the second inning, then ended the game with seven runs in the sixth inning.
Hope Schroeder (4-1) picked up the win for the Bulldogs as she allowed two runs on seven hits with two strikeouts and three walks.
Schroeder had a home run for the Bulldogs in the win, her third in two days, while Kyrah Yinger had a triple. Monica Delgado and Brianna Glass both had a double for Grove.
Alex Shumate took the loss for the Bearcats as she allowed four runs on nine hits in four innings. Caitlyn Probst and Megan Miller both had a double for the Bearcats.
