Columbus Grove rallies to beat Kalida in PCL

COLUMBUS GROVE - Columbus Grove scored all five of their runs in the fourth inning as the Bulldogs rallied for a 5-2 Putnam County League win over Kalida.Kalida (1-2, 2-7) scored both of their runs in the first inning and made them standup until the fourth inning when the Bulldogs erupted for their five runs. A three run double by Brandon Benroth was the big blow in the inning for the Bulldogs (3-1, 10-1). Kody Griffith had a double in the inning and scored as Josh Verhoff reached on an error. Verhoff later scored on a balk.
Trey Roney was the winning pitcher as he allowed two runs on five hits with six strikeouts.
Mason Smith had two hits for the Bulldogs.
Austin Swift took the loss for Kalida as he allowed five runs on six hits with two strikeouts and four walks.
Miller City 5
MILLER CITY - Miller City scored three times in the fifth inning to help them to a 5-4 non-league win over McComb.
With the game tied 2-2, the Wildcats (7-3) scored three times in the fifth inning on a three run home run by Ross Lehman. The Panthers made things interesting with a run in the sixth and seventh innings.
Ross Kaufman (2-1) picked up the win for Miller City as he allowed four runs on six hits with eight strikeouts and two walks. Jackson Lammers finished the game to get a save.
Lehman finished the night with a single and home run and four RBI. Kaufman had two singles, while Hunter Berner and Logan Dukes both had a double.
Reardon took the loss for McComb as he went 5 2/3 innings allowing five runs on five hits with seven strikeouts.
Dalton Buck had a pair of doubles for the Panthers.
OTTOVILLE - Alex Horstman blasted a two run home in the bottom of the sixth inning Friday evening to give Ottoville a 6-5 Putnam County League win over Pandora-Gilboa.
