PAULDING — Continental outscored Patrick Henry in the middle two quarters Tuesday night to post a 35-32 Division IV sectional semi-final win at Paulding High School.
The win advances the Pirates to the sectional finals Friday night to face Wayne Trace Friday at 6:15 p.m.
Patrick Henry had a 10-8 lead after the opening quarter before the Pirates bounced back with a 9-8 scoring run in the second quarter. A 10-6 run by Continental in the third quarter gave them the lead for good. Wade Stauffer hit a pair of three-pointers in the third quarter for the Pirates to give them the lead.
Stauffer led the Pirates with 11 points, while Tyler Rue and Zach Schwarzman both had six points. Gabe Williams had seven rebounds for Continental, while Rue had five steals and Stauffer four assists.
A.J. Wagner had 13 points for the Patriots.
