GLANDORF - Tyler Ellerbrock was just what the Ottawa-Glandorf pitching staff needed Monday afternoon.After the Titans pitching staff being a little thin after a number of games to start the season, O-G as looking for Ellerbrock to pitch well and give some of tired arms a break. That's just what they received from the senior hurler.
Ellerbrock threw a one-hitter against Fort Jennings as the Titans posted a 13-0, five inning, non-league win over the Musketeers.
Ellerbrock was dominate on the mound as he had a perfect game into the fifth inning. He lost the perfect game on a one out infield single. However, Ellerbrock only faced 15 batters in the game as he induced the next batter to groundout to second base for a game ending doubleplay. Ellerbrock had four strikeouts in picking up the win.
While Ellerbrock ws solid on the mound, the Titans offense erupted for six runs in the second inning to break the game open.
O-G had a 1-0 lead after the first inning, then broke the game open with six runs in the second inning. ELlerbrock had a two run double in the inning and Cory Imm had a two run triple to right-center.
The Titans added three runs in each of the third and fourth innings.
Imm had a triple, two singles and three RBI for O-G, while Tyler Zender had a double, single and three RBI. Cody Bockrath had a single, double and two RBI, Ellerbrock had a double and two RI, Jake Hashbarger had two singles and Jaylen Von Sossan had a double.
Miller City 2
KALIDA - Miller City pushed across a pair of single runs Monday afternoon as the Wildcats topped Kalida 2-0 in Putnam County League action.
Miller City (1-0, 4-1) scored single runs in the fourth and seventh innings.
Ross Lehman (2-0) picked up the win for Miller City as he didn't allow a run on two hits with seven strikeouts and six walks.
Logan Dukes had two singles for the Wildcats.
A. Swift took the loss for Kalida (0-1, 0-2) as he allowed two runs on two hits with 13 strikeouts and three walks.
