Fourth quarter gives Kalida win

KALIDA - Kalida closed strong against Ada Friday night to claim a 63-48 non-league win.
The Wildcats had a 42-37 lead after three quarters before outscoring the Bulldogs 21-11 in the fourth quarter. Kalida had a 17-14 lead after the opening quarter and outscored the Bulldogs 25-23 in the middle two quarters.
Randy Zeller led the Wildcats with a game high 23 points as he canned three three-pointers. Cole Miller added 11 points and Luke Langhals finished with 10.
Grant McBride had 20 points to lead the Bulldogs and Blake Willeke finished with 10 points.
Kalida won the junior varsity game 54-24.
OTTOVILLE - Spencerville used a fourth quarter scoring edge to defeat Ottoville 62-53 in non-league action.
With the game tied 43-43 after three quarters, the Bearcats used a 19-10 fourth quarter scoring margin for the win. Ben Bowers led the Bearcats fourth quarter charge with 13 points as he was 5-of-7 at the line and canned a pair of three-pointers as well. Luke Schimmoeller had five fourth quarter points for the Big Green and Brandt Landin had four.
Ottoville trailed 29-27 at halftime before outscoring Spencerville 16-14 in the third quarter.
Bowers led the Bearcats with 27 points and Zach Goecke had 14 points.
Landin led the Big Green with 17 points and Tyler Roby had 16. Schimmoeller finished with 10 points and Kyle Bendele had nine.
Spencerville won the junior varsity game 28-20.
