PUTNAM COUNTY - The second week of the high school football seasontook palce Friday night as the start of conference play dominated the local scene. And when the night was over three teams moved to 2-0 on the season.
All of the winning teams were able to win big in winning their conference opener.
Pandora-Gilboa opened Blanchard Valley Conference play with a 58-0 win over Cory-Rawson, The Rockets scored on all eight first half possessions as they used the run and pass to dominate the Hornets. They also scored on a punt return in the half and picked off two Hornet passes to set up two other scores.
In Leipsic, the Vikings moved to 2-0 as they defeated Vanlue 47-0. No details of the game were available late Friday night.
In Van Wert, Ottawa-Glandorf turned in a second good performance as they defeated the Cougars 42-0. The Titans had a 35-0 halftime lead and cruised from there. Logan Rieman ran for two O-G touchdowns and threw for two others. Shane Schroeder and Brad Racer added touchdowns for the Titans.
O-G's defense pitched its second straight shutout to start the season.
Columbus Grove opened Northwest Conference action as they fell to Allen East 32-22. The Mustangs used the big play to defeat the Bulldogs as they had three scoring plays 47 yards or better, two of them 70 plus yard passes.
Riley Brubaker ran for a score and passed for one in the loss.
