FINDLAY — Liberty-Benton won the final event of the day to forge a tie with Columbus Grove for the team championship at the Liberty-Benton Invitational Saturday.
The Eagle boys won the 1600 Relay by two-tenths over the Bulldogs to move into a first place for the team title. Liberty-Benton won the 1600 Relay in 3:34.63, while the Bulldogs were second in 3:34.65.
That outcome gave both teams 101 points for the day and a share of the Liberty-Benton title. Otsego was right behind the two winners with 100.5 points. Leipsic and Pandora-Gilboa finished tied for eighth with 23 points.
On the girls side, the Lady Eagles claimed the team title with 126 points and Columbus Grove was second with 106 points. Pandora-Gilboa finished fourth with 63.5 points and Leipsic was 13th with 18 points.
