SPENCERVILLE - Columbus Grove's boys track team used a good start in the field events at the Northwest Conference championships on their way to winning the 2013 boys team title.
Columbus Grove won the boys title with 127 points as Lima Central Catholic was second with 108 points. Spencerville finished third with 89.5 points.
On the girls side, the Lady Bulldogs finished second with 106 points as Spencerville won the team championship with 166 points.
The Grove boys scored 52 points in the field events on their way to the championship.
The Bulldogs won three of the five field events as Trevor Schroeder won the shot put, Dakota Vogt the discus and Collin Grothaus the pole vault. Baily Clement finished second in the high jump for Grove.

On the track Columbus Grove won just two events as Jake Graham won the 1600 meter run and Derek Rieman the 300 hurdles. They were able to place in most events to help themselves to the title.
For the Lady Bulldogs, Sydney McCluer was a double winner in the hurdles winning the 100 and 300 hurdles and McCluer was part of the winning 800 Relay team.
In the field events, Megan Verhoff won the discus and Annie Schramm was second and Cassie Stechschulte won the high jump. Schramm finished second in the shot put and Aubrey Fruchey finished third in the shot.
