Grove rallies to defeat Kalida

COLUMBUS GROVE - Columbus Grove rallied in the fourth quarter Tuesday night to defeat Kalida 52-47 in Putnam County League action.The win moves the Bulldogs to 1-1 in the PCL and 5-3 overall, while Kalida is 0-1 in the PCL and 3-3 overall.
Kalida had a 39-36 lead after three quarter as they outscored the Bulldogs 18-15 in the third quarter. Columbus Grove regrouped in the fourth quarter to outscore the Wildcats 16-8 for the win.
Sydney McCluer led the Bulldogs with 14 points and Sammi Stechschulte had 10 points. Julia Wynn had eight points and 11 rebounds for Grove.
Allison Recker led Kalida with 14 points as she was 7-of-7 from the floor shooting. Nicole Recker added 11 points. Kylie Osterhage pulled down nine rebounds for the Wildcats.
Columbus Grove won the junior varsity game 41-32.
FINDLAY - Ottawa-Glandorf's girls basketball team was unable to carry their first half momentum into the second half Tuesday night.
The Titans competed well against a good Liberty-Benton squad the first half taking the lead into the locker room. They didn't carry that over to the second half as the Eagles took control on their way to a 65-45 non-league win.
The Titans had a 31-29 halftime lead before the Eagles turned the tables in the third quarter with a 19-6 scoring advantage.
Rachel Myers led the Eagles (6-1) with 23 points and Carrie Reynolds added 16 points. Lauren Koty had 13 points and 14 rebounds for Liberty-Benton.
Kristen Miller had 12 points to lead the Titans (4-2). Danielle Ellerbrock added seven points.
O-G won the junior varsity game 37-33.
DEFIANCE - Continental held Defiance to eight points over the middle two quarters Tuesday night to post a 58-37 non-league win.
The Bulldogs had a 16-15 lead after the opening quarter before the Pirates held them to just two points in the second quarter to take a 29-18 halftime lead. The Pirates put the game away with a 19-6 run in the third quarter.
Paige Kindilien led four Pirate players in double digits with 15 points and Paige Ordway had 14 points. Sloane Zachrich added 12 points and Erica Fitzwater had 11 points.
Laura Schrag had 10 points for the Bulldogs.
Defiance won the junior varsity game 40-23.
PANDORA - Pandora-Gilboa's Megan Maag and Hunter Hermiller combine to outscore the entire Upper Scioto Valley team in a 46-37 non-league win Tuesday night.
Maag led the Rockets (3-3) with 21 points and Hermiller chipped in 19 points, with four three-pointers, in the win.
The Rockets used a 22-10 run in the second quarter to get the lead.
Brittany Holbrook led the Rams (2-4) with 16 points and Shelby Spradlin added 12 points.
P-G won the junior varsity game 35-17.
