COLUMBUS GROVE — Columbus Grove standout basketball player announced Tuesday that she will continue her academic and athletic careers at the University of Detroit-Mercy. Bellman made the announcement through her twitter account.
The 6-0 Bellman is a three year letter winner for the Lady Bulldog basketball program. As a junior Bellman was a first team all-Ohio selection in Division III as well as the Player of the Year in the Putnam County League and Northwest Conference. Columbus Grove won both the PCL and NWC hoop titles last season outright.

Bellman was a first team PCL and NWC selection as a sophomore as the Bulldogs advanced to the regional semi-finals in Division III. Last season, Columbus Grove advanced to the district finals in Division III.
As a junior, Bellman led the Bulldogs in scoring at 17.2 ppg, while grabbing 10.0 rebounds a game while shooting 65 percent from the field and 71 percent at the line. She averaged 3.2 block and 3.5 steals a game.
Detroit-Mercy is an NCAA Division I program that plays in the Horizen League. The Titans were 18-14 last year and 12-6 in conference play.
