KALIDA - Saturday's Division III district final boys soccer match at Kalida came down to the goalkeepers for each team.

After Kalida and Lima Central Catholic were unable to decide their matchup in regulation or two sudden death overtimes, penalty kicks were needed to decide which team would advance to regionals.
And when Kalida keeper Brent Hovest was able to stop LCC's final two penalty kicks and jis Wildcat teammates scored on theirs it helped give the Wildcats a 2-1 win over the T-Birds. Kalida outscored LCC 4-3 in penalty kicks for the win.
Kalida (14-2-3) advances to the Division III regional semi-finals Wednesday night to face Ottawa Hills at 7 p.m. in Tiffin. LCC saw their season end at 15-4-1.
After the two teams played to a 1-1 tie in regulation and the two overtime periods, the two squads went to the penalty kick phase of the match.
LCC had a 3-2 lead on Kalida after three shooters took their turns. Hovest came up big for the Wildcats in goal stopping shots by the T-Birds Ryan Recker and Joseph Eisele. Meanwhile, the Wildcats Jordan Kortokrax and Adam Langhals made their shots to give Kalida the win.
Sean Daley scored for LCC in the first half to give the T-Birds a 1-0 halftime lead. Adam Langhals tied the game for Kalida in the second half with a goal as Austin Roebke assisted.
