Kalida defeats Ottoville in PCL soccer

OTTOVILLE - Kalida's girls soccer team moved a step closer to defending its Putnam County League title with a 2-0 win at Ottoville Monday evening.The win moves the Wildcats to 3-0 in the PCL as their lone remaining league contest is October 8 against Continental. Kalida is 11-0-1 overall. The Big Green dropped to 0-3 in the PCL and 5-8 overall.
Brittany Kahle and Laine Laudick scored goals for Kalida Monday and Alexa Ellerbrock had an assist.
Kalida outshot the Big Green 19-2 as Ottoville did not attempt a shot in the second half.
Sarah Verhoff had a save in goal for the Wildcats and Danielle Trenkamp had 11 saves for the Big Green.
LIMA - Continental's girls soccer team scored a pair of first half goals Monday on their way to a 3-2 non-league win over Lima Central Catholic.
Sloane Zachrich and McKenna Scott scored the first half goals for the Pirates, while Paige Ordway scored in the second half. Ordway also had an assist in the first half for the Pirates.
Liz Taflinger and Sydney Santaguida scored for the T-Birds.
Continenta outshot the T-Birds 19-15 as Emma Recker had 10 saves in goal for the Pirates and Madison Stolly had three saves for LCC.
