Kalida defeats St. Marys in boys soccer

KALIDA — Austin Swift had a goal and assist Tuesday evening as Kalida defeated St. Marys 3-1 in non-league boys soccer action.
Swift gave Kalida a 1-0 halftime lead with a goal that was assisted by Brent Hovest. Devin Kortokrax scored on a penalty kick in the second half and Grant Unverferth scored as Swift had an assist.
Nathan Wilker scored for St. Marys on a free kick.
Kalida had seven shots on goal and the Roughriders three. Hovest had two saves in goal for the Wildcats and Keegan Liette had four saves for St. Marys.
St. Marys won the junior varsity match 2-0.
CELINA — Ottawa-Glandorf and Celina played to a 0-0 tie in Western Buckeye League girls soccer action Tuesday night.
Both teams had four shots on goal as Titan goalie Cassie Schroeder had four saves and Bulldog goalie Callie Vogel also had four saves.
O-G won the junior varsity contest 2-0.
The Titans are 4-0-1 on the season and 0-0-1 in the league.
