PANDORA — Miller City's Jacob Kuhlman was in the zone Tuesday afternoon.
Kuhlman had a perfect game through four innings before settling for a one hit shutout in the Wildcats 15-0, five inning, Putnam County League win at Pandora-Gilboa.
Kuhlman faced just 12 Rocket batters through four innings before P-G's Adam Schwab ended his bid for perfection with a leadoff single in the fifth. Kuhlman would walk a P-G batter in the inning before stranding the two runners to complete the shutout. He threw only 64 pitches in getting the win.
Miller City gave Kuhlman all the run support he would need scoring nine times in the first inning.
Corbin Niese had a big day at the plate for the Wildcats (3-1, 7-2) with two doubles and a sacrifice fly as he drove in five runs.
Bryce Riepenhoff had three singles and plated three runs and Jacob Schimmoeller had two hits and drove in two runs. Logan Niese had three hits for the Wildcats in the win.
Drew Johnson took the loss for the Rockets as he went three innings allowing 12 runs, nine earned, on 11 hits. Carter Nofziger and Alex Ricker worked in relief.
Central Catholic 1
LIMA — Lima Central Catholic scored a first inning run and made that stand up in a 1-0 non-league win over Kalida Tuesday.
Brady Jennings picked up the win for LCC as he gave up four hits an struck out nine Kalida batters. Jennings had a single and an RBI for the T-Birds.
Grant Laudick took the loss for Kalida (6-6) as he went the distance allowing the one run on five hits.
Derek Buss had three of the four Wildcat hits in the game. Josh Recker had a hit for Kalida as well.
LEIPSIC — Leipsic broke open a close game late as the Vikings rolled to a 13-2 Putnam County League win over Ottoville in five innings.
The Vikings had a 4-0 lead going to the bottom of the fourth when they scored nine times. The Big Green scored twice in the fifth inning.
Dylan Schroeder went five innings for the win as he allowed two runs on six hits with six strikeouts.
DJ Laubetnthal had two hits and drove in three runs for the Vikings. Cole Rieman had a hit and plated two runs, while Devin Hiegel, Jordan Berger, Nick Schey and Grant Rader all had a hit and RBI.
Zane Martin took the loss for Ottoville as he went three innings. Brad Boecker and Dylan Kemper both worked in relief.
Clayton Schnipke had two hits and an RBI for the Big Green and Martin had an RBI. Dylan Kemper and Keagan Leis both had a single for the Big Green.
CELINA — Celina scored three times in their final two at-bats to claim a 4-1 Western Buckeye League win from Ottawa-Glandorf.
The game was tied 1-1 after the Titans scored in the fourth innings. The Bulldogs broke the tie with a run in the sixth and they added two insurance runs in the seventh inning.
Tanner Freeman picked up the win for the Bulldogs (4-0, 11-1).
Grant Fuerst (2-2) took the loss for O-G. Evan Balash had a double for the Titans (3-2, 11-3).
