KALIDA - Archbold scored the final four points of their game with Ottawa-Glandorf Saturday to claim a 40-37 Division III district championship.
The Blue Streaks trailed 37-36 after O-G's Molly Closson laid in a baseline shot with 2:08 left. In the final 1:35 of the game, Archbold went 4-of-6 at the line to claim the win. In the same time period, O-G missed a pair of shots and two free throws that would have given them leads.
Arcbold junior Jesse Fidler gave her team a three point lead with 1.5 seconds left when she hit the first of two free throws.
After the miss, O-G's Elissa Ellerbrock took a couple of dribbles and launched a 55 foot shot that rimmed out.
The Titans gave the once-beaten Blue Streaks a tough game as they led for much of the contest. O-G took a 33-28 lead to the fourth quarter but only scored four points in the final eight minutes.
Archbold took their first lead since the opening half at 36-35 on two Fidler free throws. The Tians hurt their chances for a win as they went 2-of-7 at the line in the final quarter.
Kristen Miller had 10 points for O-G in the game. The Titans finish the season at 16-9.
Archbold will play Liberty-Benton in the regional semi-finals Tuesday night at 8:30 p.m. at Ohio Northern University.
