OTTAWA — Ottawa-Glandorf jumped out to an early lead Friday evening as they opened the 2017-18 girls basketball season with a 68-32 win over Chillicothe.

The Titans (1-0) had a 17-9 lead after the opening quarter and were up 29-13 at halftime. O-G continued to pull away in the second half as they outscored Chillicothe 39-19, which included a 22-8 run in the fourth quarter.

Bri Schimmoeller led the Titans with 17 points, which included three three-pointers. Kadie Hempfling drained a pair of three-pointers as she finished with 10 points and Kasey Ellerbrock had eight points. O-G canned seven three-pointers in the win.

Shawnee Smith had 10 points for Chillicothe, while Shawnice Smith and Mackenzie Greene both had eight points.

O-G won the junior varsity game 34-32.

Leipsic 64

Pandora-Gilboa 26

PANDORA — Leipsic held Pandora-Gilboa to 10 points in the first half Friday night on their way to a 64-26 Putnam County League win.

The Vikings had a 31-10 first half lead as they opened the game with a 17-3 first quarter scoring advantage. The Rockets never reached double digit scoring in a quarter as they were outscored 33-16 in the second half.

Kierra Meyer led the Vikings with 19 points and Heather Lammers added 13 points.

Kayla Ferguson led re Rockets with eight points and four steals, while Alexis McCoy and Paige Fenstermaker both had five points. Fenstermaker pulled down six rebounds.

Leipsic was 27-of-63 shooting the ball, while P-G was 9-of-42 shooting for the game with 23 turnovers.

Leipsic won the junior varsity contest 32-11.

Minster 51

Kalida 36

KALIDA — Minster took advantage of a rough third quarter by Kalida Friday afternoon to claim a 51-36 season opening basketball win.

Minster had a 21-18 halftime lead on Kalida before posting a 13-5 third quarter scoring advantage for a 34-23 lead. Minster finished off their win with a 17-13 fourth quarter scoring advantage.

Freshman point guard Ivy Wolf led Minster with a game high 19 points and Demaris Wolf added 12 points.

Sarah Klausing paced Kalida with 10 points and eight rebounds and Kara Siefler had nine points. Lauren Langhals grabbed eight rebounds for the Ladycats (0-1).

Minster won the junior varsity game 42-12.
