PUTNAM COUNTY - The high school baseball season is a week old. And while teams have been getting a couple of games in the opening days of the season, league play in the Putnam County League will start Friday afternoon with two games.
One of the first league games is a PCL encounter between Leipsic and Columbus Grove at Grove. Game time will be 5 p.m. The Vikings are the defending league co-champs from the 2012 season, while the Bulldogs went 3-4 in league play last season.
The second league game to be played Friday will have Pandora-Gilboa visiting Continental for a 5 p.m. game.
In non-league action Friday, Ottawa-Glandorf entertains Miller City at 5 p.m.
