Leipsic claims BVC baseball win

LEIPSIC — Leipsic's Dylan Schey held Arcadia to just one hit Wednesday afternoon in claiming a 3-1 Blanchard Valley Conference win.
Schey (3-2) allowed the Redskins just one hit and struck out four in going the distance. Arcadia scored its lone run in the first inning.
The Vikings answered the Redskins early run with two of their own in the bottom of the first and they added an insurance run in the fifth.
Pierce Henry had an RBI triple for the Vikings (2-2, 5-11).
Hayden Ramsey had the lone hit for Arcadia (1-6, 2-11).
MCCOMB — McComb scored five straight runs Wednesday afternoon on their way to a 5-3 Blanchard Valley Conference win over Pandora-Gilboa.
The Rockets took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning before the Panthers came back with two runs in the bottom of the inning. McComb added a run in the fourth inning and two in the fifth. P-G scored a run in the sixth inning.
Clay Grubb picked up the win for McComb (5-1, 12-3). Mitch Schroeder had a double and single for the Panthers and Clay Dysert had two singles.
Seth Schmenk took the loss for P-G (3-3, 7-7). Alex Osborn had a double and single for P-G, while Dustin Rieman, Jacob Basinger and Brian Schneck each had two singles.
Wayne Trace 1
HAVILAND — Ottoville broke on top quick Wednesday on their way to a 12-1 non-league win over Wayne Trace in five innings.
The Big Green scored five times in the first inning as they scored in every inning they batted. Ottoville finished off the Raiders with a four run fifth inning.
Kyle Bendele picked up the win for Ottoville as he allowed one run on one hit with two strikeouts.
Jared Fanning had two hits and four RBIs for the Big Green and Joel Beining had four hits and a hit. Brandon Boecker, Alex Horstman and Jake Van Oss all had two hits for the Big Green.
