LEIPSIC - Leipsic won the final two games Wednesday evening to defeat Pandora-Gilboa in a battle of once beaten, state ranked teams 25-19, 21-25, 25-23, 25-16.
The contest counted as a Putnam County League game and a Blanchard Valley Conference game. The Vikings, ranked sixth in Division IV, are 3-1 in the BVC and 3-0 in the PCL, 12-1 overall, while P-G, ranked tenth in Division IV, dropped to 2-1 in the PCL and 2-2 in the BVC and 11-2 overall.
Kelly Nader pounded 18 kills for the Vikings as she was 28-of-35 hitting with 20 digs and she was 14-of-16 serving. Haley Gerten was 20-of-20 serving and had 15 kills as she was 26-of-28 hitting with 20 digs and Amber Gerdeman had 17 kills as she was 19-of-24 hitting with three aces and three blocks.
Rachel Rieman was 13-of-14 serving and 53-of-56 setting with 20 assists and 12 digs, while Emily Ellerbrock was 13-of-13 serving and was 45-of-45 setting with 24 assists. Maddie Steffan had six blocks and Brooke Heitmeyer four blocks.
Megan Maag paced the P-G attack as she had 20 kills on 51-of-56 hitting with two blocks and she was 17-of-18 serving with 17 digs. Vivian Noziger had 34 assists as she was 123-of-125 setting with nine digs and 13-of-13 serving and Hunter Hermiller had eight kills, eight digs and was 12-of-13 serving. MAckenzie Swary was 12-of-12 serving with 15 digs and Olivia Maag had four kills as she was 6-of-7 hitting.
Alexa Maag had eight kills as she was 13-of-15 hitting and Mikaylee Morman was 16-of-18 serving.
P-G won the junior varsity match 25-19, 25-11.
