MT. BLANCHARD — Leipsic's volleyball opened the 2014 season with a Blanchard Valley Conference against one of the new teams entering the conference this fall.

Leipsic went up to Riverdale and quickly dispatched their newest league foe 25-16, 25-5 and 25-16 in the season opener for both teams.

Kelly Nadler was 34-of-35 hitting for the Vikings with 20 kills, five blocks and nine digs,while Shalynn Morman was 22-of-24 hitting with 11 kills, three aces and 10 digs. Lindsey Rieman and Kierra Meyer both had seven kills for Leipsic.

Emily Ellerbrock was 67-of-68 setting with 39 assists and three aces and Brenna Schroeder was 22-of-22 serving.

Coldwater Invitational

COLDWATER — Ottawa-Glandorf won their opening match at the Coldwater Spikeoff Invitational Saturday, but then dropped a pair of three set matches to two Midwest Athletic Conference foes.

The Titans opened with a 25-17, 25-14 win over Liberty-Benton  before falling to host Coldwater 25-19, 22-25, 21-25. In their final match of the day, O-G fell to Fort Loramie 17-25, 25-23, 18-25.

In the Liberty-Benton match, Anna Bellman had 14 blocks and four kills for the Titans, while Kayla Leatherman had three aces and 17 digs. Olivia Hermiller had six kills and Brooke Eiden had four kills. Madison Stechschulte handed out 10 assists and Lauren Buddelmeyer had seven.

In the match with Coldwater, Ashley Stechschulte had two aces and Madison Stechschulte had 16 assists. Hermiller pounded 12 kills, bellman had two blocks and 16 block assists and Leatherman had 19 digs.

In the Fort Koramie match, Niki Ellerbrock pounded 10 kills and Jordan Alt had two solo blocks, 11 assists and a block. Madison Stechschulte had 15 assists and Leatherman 12 digs.
