The two teams were tied 10-10 after one quarter before the Vikings outscored the Tigers over the final three quarters.
Devin Mangas led the Vikings with 18 points.
Miller City 68
MILLER CITY - Miller City overcame an early deficit Friday night to defeat Tinora 68-51 in the season opener for both teams.
The Rams jumped out to a 15-8 first quarter lead, but saw the Wildcats rally in the second quarter with a 24-6 scoring advantage to take a lead they never lost.
Ross Kaufman led the Wildcats with 14 points, while Austin Lammers and Ross Vennekotter both had 12 points and six rebounds.
Derek Drewes had 12 points for the Rams, while Robert Wuo and Sam Lehman both had 10 points. Drewes pulled down 13 rebounds for the Rams in the setback.
RAWSON - Ottoville came out firing as the Big Green opened the 2012-13 season with a 42-29 non-league win over Cory-Rawson.
The Big Green jumped out to a 17-4 first quarter lead and pushed that to 28-10 at the half with a 11-6 second quarter scoring advantage. The Hornets tried to get back into the game in the third quarter with a 15-4 scoring advantage, but the Big Green held on for the win with a 10-4 fourth quarter scoring advantage.
Ryan Honigford led the Big Green with 14 points, while Derek Schimmoeller added 12 points.
Tyler Harris led the Hornets with 11 points and Matt Alspach had nine points. Grant Risner chipped in with seven points and grabbed seven rebounds.
CONTINENTAL - Paulding used eight point scoring advantages in the first and third quarters Friday night as they opened the season with a 61-49 win over Continental. The Panther win ruined the return of Continental's Kevin Homier back to the coaching ranks.
The Panthers jumped out to a 13-5 first quarter lead, then after outscoring the Pirates by one point in the second quarter, extended their lead with a 16-8 scoring run in the third quarter.
Kyle Kaiser and Lance Foor both had 14 points to lead the Panthers.
Chaz Slatman had a big night for the Pirates with 13 points and 16 rebounds. Tyler Dockery added 11 points and Tyler Rue 10 points and four steals.
Fort Jennings 35
FORT JENNINGS - Fort Jennings struggled offensively Friday evening as the Musketeers dropped their season opener 56-35 to Arlington.
The Musketeers scored just 12 points in the first half as the Red Devils, a state semi-finalist in Division IV last season, jumped out to a 27-17 halftime lead. Ft. Jennings offense picked up in the third quarter as they outscored the red Devils 17-14 before Arlington regrouped and closed out the game with a 15-6 run in the fourth quarter.
Junior post played Michael Blunk was strong down low for Arlington with 18 points. Blaiz McBride canned a pair of three-pointers as he added 12 points.
Connor Wallenhorst had 12 points and four rebounds for the Musketeers. Brandon Kohli added eight points.
