Local golfers fall short at districts

BOWLING GREEN - Local golfers competing in the Division III district tournament at the Stone Ridge Golf Course Thursday saw their seasons come to an end.Miller City had the best showing of the three county teams shooting a 351 at Stone Ridge. The Wildcats were led by Austin Lammers with a 79, which was one shot short of making a playoff for a spot in the state tournament as an individual.
Jared Fuka followed with an 85 for the Wildcats, while Davis Lammers had a 92 and Cody Sheets a 95.
Kalida finished the day with a 365 team score. Kalida was led by Zach Erhart with an 89, while Jeff Knueve, Evan Recker and Trent Siebeneck all had a 92.
Ottoville finished the district tournament with a 372. Luke Schimmoeller led the Big Green with an 82, while Wesley Markward and Brendan Schnipke both had a 96. Matt Turnwald finished with a 96.
Leipsic's Emilleo Guerra had a 100 playing as an individual and Neil Haselman had a 102.
