Maas pitches O-G past Ottoville

OTTOVILLE — Ottawa-Glandorf's Ryan Maas was dominate on the mound Tuesday afternoon in pitching the Titans to a 12-1 win over Ottoville in five innings.
Maas (1-0) struck out 11 Big Green batters while allowing them just two hits in going the distance. He walked three Ottoville batters and hit two. The only run he allowed came in the fourth inning.
The Titans had a 3-0 lead going to the fourth when the pushed across four runs. A five run fifth helped O-G (1-0) end the game early.
Matt Warnecke had a home run, single and two RBI for O-G, while Tyler Zender had a home run, single and three RBI. Ben Deitering and Tanner Schimmoeller had doubles for the Titans, while Chandler Kersh and Brad Croy both had two singles.
Luke Schimmoeller took the loss for Ottoville in the Big Green's season opener.
Miller City 14
CONTINENTAL — Miller City banged out 10 hits in posting a 14-2 win over Continental Tuesday afternoon in non-league action.
The Wildcats (2-0) jumped out to a 3-1 lead after one inning, then pushed across four runs in each of the second and third innings.
Jackson Lammers (1-0) picked up the win for Miller City as he allowed a run on two hits with seven strikeouts and a walk.
Lammers also had a pair of triples in the game, while Hunter Berner had three doubles. Adam Drummelsmith had two singles and a double. The Wildcats also took advantage of eight walks and five Pirate errors in the game.
Gabe Williams (0-1) took the loss for Continental as he went 1 2/3 innings allowing seven runs on two hits. Terry Dockery III and Dallas Geckle worked in relief.
Dockery III had a double and triple for the Pirates (0-2) and scored twice.
