WAPAKONETA - McComb gave defending Division VI state champion Marion Local all they wanted Friday night during their state semi-final game at Wapakoneta's Harmon Field.
In the end the Flyers prevailed in triple overtime as Marion Local defeated the Panthers 34-28.
McComb trailed 21-7 entering the fourth quarter but scored two fourth quarter touchdowns to force overtime. The Panthers tied the game with just under two minutes left in the game.
Neither team scored in the first overtime sending the game to a second overtime. Marion Local scored first in the second overtime only to have the Panthers score when Jerry Brown threw a touchdown pass.
Marion Local's defense prevented the Panthers from scoring on their possession in the third overtime. The Flyer offense then took care of business scoring on a seven yard run.
