MILLER CITY — It was a battle of aces as Miller City and Fort Jennings squared off in Putnam County League action Monday afternoon.
The Wildcats' Ross Lehman out dueled the Musketeers' Ryan Rau as Miller City claimed a 7-1 win on an overcast afternoon.
Miller City (1-0, 4-2) took a 2-0 lead with single runs in the third and fourth innings before the Musketeers (1-2, 2-7) came back with a run in the top of the fifth inning.
The Wildcats put the game away in the bottom of the sixth as they pushed across five runs for the final score. Miller City sent 10 batters to the plate in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Lehman (2-1) recorded the win as he went the distance allowing one run on three hits with six strikeouts and two walks.
Jackson Lammers and Hunter Berner both had two hits for Miller City.
Rau took the loss for Ft. Jennings as he allowed seven runs on eight hits with 11 strikeouts and three walks in 6 1/3 innings. Dylan Van Loo got the final two outs of the Wildcat sixth.

HAVILAND – Ottawa-Glandorf scored eight times in the first inning Monday afternoon on their way to a 14-1 non-league win over Wayne Trace.
After scoring eight times in the first inning, O-G added four runs in the fourth inning as the game ended in the fifth inning.
The Raiders had just two hits in the game, while the Titans banged out 13.
