PAYNE – Josiah Rager shot a 35 and the Lincolnview Lancers captured the 2014 championship of the Wayne Trace golf invitational Thursday at Pleasant Valley Golf Course.
Derek Youtsey also had a 37 for the Lancers with Damon Norton carding a 44 for the blue and gold.
Lincolnview finished with a 163 team total to nip runner-up Wayne Trace’s 164. Crestview finished third at 169 followed by Allen East (172), Miller City (175), Fort Jennings (192), Paulding (194) and Antwerp (195).
Justis Dowdy posted a 47 for the Lancers with Braden Thatcher (56) and Logan Kraner (57) rounding out the Lincolnview golfers.
Wayne Trace got great balance in its second place finish as the quartet of Corbin Linder, Luke Miller, Brady Stabler and Ethan Linder all shot 41’s. Alec Vest also had a 44 for the red, white and blue.
Connor Lautzenheiser shot a 40 to pace Crestview and Ronnie Schumm added a 42. Other Knight golfers were Chandler Hurless (43), Jon Germann (44), Cyler Miller (48) and Derek Bird (50).
Parker Frey and Kayne Richardson each shot a 36 for the Mustangs while Matt Meyer posted a score of 49. Logan Ryan (51), Grant Whitley (54) and Harry Kill (55) completed the Allen East players.
Miller City was led by Davis Lammers with a round of 41 while Jacob Schimmoeller posted a 44. Trey Hermiller and Cody Sheets each had a 45 for the Wildcats. Adam Schroeder and Jordan Schmenk posted rounds of 48 and 59 for the blue and gold.
Alex Sealts recorded a 44 for low man honors on Fort Jennings with teammate Sam Vetter adding a 48. Nick Von Sossan and Austin Luebrecht shot a 49 and 51, respectively. Drew Grone and Collin Wieging also had a 52 and 56, in that order, for the Musketeers.
Ben Heilshorn carded a 42 to lead Paulding and Ethan Dominique added a 48. Cade McGarvey (49), Ellie Miller (55) and Isaac Baldwin (60) were the other Panther participants.
Jeffrey Coleman led Antwerp with a 40.
