Miller City girls fall to Tigers

WAYNESFIELD - Waynesfield-Goshen used a strong second half Saturday afternoon to defeat Miller City 73-60 in non-league action.With the contest tied 30-30 at halftime, the Tigers (4-4) outscored Miller City 17-11 in the third quarter, then used a 26-19 run in the fourth quarter to seal the win.
Kaylee Patton led the Tigers with 24 points and Lidia Turner added 19 points. Rebecca Stevens finished with 10 points for Waynesfield-Goshen.
Haley Lammers led four Wildcat (0-9) players in double digits with 14. Melissa Michel added 13 points, while Brandi Gerschutz and Amanda Simon both had 12 points. Michel grabbed eight rebounds and had five assists, while Gerschutz had seven assists.
CONVOY - Crestview started strong and finished equally strong as the Knights rolled to a 47-37 win over Kalida Saturday afternoon in non-league action.
Crestview (8-1) jumped out to a 17-11 first quarter lead and finished the game with a 16-8 for the win.
Lindsey Motycka led the Knights with 15 points and Mackenzie Riggenbach had 14 points.
Amy Smith had 14 points for Kalida (6-2) and Jackie Gardner had nine points.
OTTAWA - Ottoville held Ottawa-Glandorf to four points in the first half Saturday afternoon as the Big Green claimed a 43-26 non-league win.
The Big Green jumped out to a 10-3 first quarter lead, then expanded it to 18-4 at the break.
Rachel Turnwald led the Big Green with 12 points. Nicole Vorst added 11 points, while Abby Siefker had 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Elissa Ellerbrock had nine points for the Titans (3-5).

FORT JENNINGS - Fort Jennings used a strong third quarter Saturday afternoon to post a 66-51 non-league win over Wayne Trace.
With the game tied 27-27 at halftime, the Musketeers (4-5) outscored the Raiders 26-12 in the third quarter for the win.
Macy Schroeder had a big day for the Musketeers with 27 points and three steals. Gabbi German added 15 points and Emily Kehres had five rebounds.
Krystal Wannemacher led the Raiders 92-6) with 11 points and Karena Ebnor had 10 points.
