CONTINENTAL - Miller City waited until their final at-bat Monday to defeat Continental 16-15 in Putnam County League action.

The Wildcats trailed 13-9 entering the seventh inning before coming up with seven runs for a 16-14 lead. The Pirates scored twice in the bottom of the seventh to make things interesting.

Liz Schimmoeller picked up the win for Miller City as she worked six innings striking out eight batters. Kylee Ricker worked the seventh inning for a sve.

Schimmoeller had a single and triple for the Wildcats (3-0, 8-5) with two RBIs.Cassie Niese had three singles and Janke van Wezel two singles and four RBIs. Tiffany Welty, Morgan Inkrott and Alissa Schnipke all had a single and double for the Wildcats.

Emma Recker took the loss for the Pirates as she went 6 1/3 innings. Alex Quigley worked two-thirds of an inning.

Quigley and McKenna Scott both had three hits for the Pirates (1-1, 5-7), while Emily Logan and Kianna Warnement both had a single and double.

VAN BUREN — Van Buren pushed across seven runs in the bottom of the second inning Monday on their way to a 14-3 Blanchard Valley Conference win over Pandora-Gilboa.

The game was tied 2-2 before the Black Knights scored seven times in the bottom of the second.

Nichole Miller picked up the win for Van Buren as she had seven strikeouts.

Samantha Hagans had a single, double and four RBIs for the Black Knights. Paige Sudlow had two singles and two RBIs.

Megan Maag (2-10) took the loss for the Rockets. Maag had two hits in the game and Anna Abelovska had a single and RBI.

LEIPSIC — Liberty-Benton picked up a Blanchard Valley Conference win Monday with an 11-2 win over Leipsic.

The Eagles scored three times in the first and third innings for the win.

Katie Roberts picked up the win for the Eagles (5-4, 7-11). Mica Terrian and Katie Devore each had two hits and an RBI at the plate.

Jada Lopez took the loss for Leipsic. Maddie Steffan had a single, double and RBI for the Vikings (1-4, 4-13).
