MILLER CITY — Tiffany Welty banged out three hits to help Miller City to a 3-1 non-league win over Bluffton Wednesday.
Welty just missed hitting for the cycle as she had single, double and triple with an RBI. Makenna Ricker and Allison Ruhe both had an RBI for the Wildcats. Megan Warnimont had two hits for the Wildcats in the win.
Warnimont picked up the win for Miller City as she allowed one run on seven hits. Taylor Roth picked up a two inning save as she didn't allow a run on two hits.
Bluffton scored their run in the top of the first and Miller City came back with two runs in the bottom of the inning, then added a run in the second inning.
Van Buren 5
LEIPSIC — Leipsic was limited to just one hit Wednesday in falling to Van Buren 5-0 in Blanchard Valley Conference action.
Summer Steingass had the lone hit for the Vikings.
Kila Fultz picked up the win for Van Buren as she had seven strikeouts and walked two.
Van Buren scored all of their runs in the fourth inning.
Olivia Sexton had three hits for the Black Knights and Leah Stall had two hits.
MCCOMB — McComb's Shelby Steinbrook tossed a one-hitter Wednesday to help guide the Panthers to a 25-0 Blanchard Valley Conference win over Pandora-Gilboa.
Steinbrook threw just 59 pitches in recording the shutout win as she struck out five P-G batters.
McComb scored eight times in the first inning and added 15 runs in the second inning.
Jenna Herr had two hits and drove in four runs for the Panthers, while Shaye Hemminger and Hannah Davidson both drove in three runs. Steinbrook and Hannah Schroeder both had a home run in the game and two RBIs.
Brittany Reigle took the loss for the Rockets (0-5, 0-7) as she went just an inning and two-thirds. Madi Dulaney had the Rockets lone hit.
