MILLER CITY - Miller City picked up its first softball win of the season Tuesday with a 7-3 Putnam County League win over Leipsic.

The Wildcats scored two runs in each of the first, fourth and fifth innings for the win.
Liz Schimmoeller picked up the win for the Wildcats as she went the distance allowing three runs on seven hits with 11 strikeouts.
Schimmoeller also had two singles and two RBI for the Wildcats (1-3, 1-0), while Jenn Leis had two singles. Liz Klear had a double and RBI.
Jada Lopez took the loss for the Vikings. Brooke Kreinbrink and Haley Gerten both had two singles for the Vikings (0-1, 0-4).

OTTOVILLE - Columbus Grove opened defense of their 2012 Putnam County League title with an 11-0, five inning win over Ottoville.
The Bulldogs had a 6-0 lead after four innings before scoring five times in the fifth inning.
Bobbi Heckel picked up the win for the Bulldogs as she didn't allow a run on two hits. She had four strikeouts in the win.
Monica Delgado had a home run for the Bulldogs. Hope Schroeder a double and triple and Kyrah Yinger a triple.
Kenzi Martin took the loss for the Big Green. She struck out four and walked three.
