Miller City softball moves to 2-0 in PCL

MILLER CITY — Miller City used a big second inning on their way to a 15-5, six inning, Putnam County League win over Kalida Wednesday afternoon.
Miller City had a 2-1 lead going to the bottom of the seventh when they exploded for seven runs and the win. A three run sixth inning allowed them to end the game early.
Liz Schimmoeller (2-3) picked up the win for the Wildcats. Kylee Ricker had a home run and three RBIs in the win for Miller City (2-0, 4-4), while Schimmoeller had two singles and two RBIs. Tiffany Welty had a single and triple and Alissa Schnipke had two singles.
Dana Knueve took the loss for Kalida (1-2, 2-6). Melissa Jorrey had two singles and two RBIs and Laine Laudick had two singles and an RBI. Nicole Recker added a single and RBI.
PANDORA — Pandora-Gilboa used two big innings to defeat Cory-Rawson 13-3 in Blanchard Valley Conference action.
The Rockets scored five times in the first inning and four times in the fifth of this five inning game.
Megan Maag (2-7) picked up the win for the Rockets.
Hunter Hermiller had a triple and three RBIs for P-G (24, 2-7), while Maag had a single, a triple and RBI. Britany Riegle was 2 for 3 with three RBIs and Vivian Nofziger was 2 for 3.
OTTOVILLE — Lincolnview used a pair of five run innings to defeat Ottoville 13-3 in non-league action.
The Lancers scored five times in the first inning and five times in the third inning.
Taylor Boecker took the loss for the Big Green. Jenny Burgei had a double for Ottoville.
Columbus Grove 6
ELIDA — Elida scored 10 runs in their final two at-bats Wednesday to claim a 15-6 non-league from Columbus Grove.
Elida had a 5-3 lead going to the bottom of the sixth when they scored six times. After Grove scored three times in the top of the sixth, Elida answered back with four runs.
Grace Schroeder took the loss for Grove. Hope Schroeder and Katie Roose both had two doubles for the Bulldogs and Kyrah Yinger had a triple.
