GLANDORF — Ottawa-Glandorf received great pitching and a fine defensive play in the top of the seventh to defeat Lima Central Catholic 1-0 Saturday afternoon in the Division III sectional semi-finals at the Field of Dreams.
The win advances to the Titans to the sectional finals Thursday against Bluffton at 5 p.m. at O-G. The Pirates advanced with a 3-0 win over Allen East.
The lone run of the game came in the third inning as an Austin Williams single scored Brad Croy, who had singled, stole second and took third on a wild pitch.
The run was enough for Titan pitchers Tanner Schimmoeller and Matt Warnecke. Schimmoeller worked 4 1/3 innings before being forced to leave with an injury. Warnecke finished the game for O-G (17-4) as he gave up all four hits the T-Birds had in the game.
The T-Birds strung together three two outs in the seventh inning as they tried to tie the game.
Luke Baumgartner attempted to score on Liam Stolly's single to center in the seventh, but was gunned down at the plate on a fine throw from center field by Tyler Zender.
KALIDA — For the second time in three days, Kalida defeated Ottoville on the baseball field.
