PERRYSBURG — A strong finish to the first quarter gave Ottawa-Glandorf a lead they wouldn't lose.

However, the Titans had some anxious moments in the second half as Perrysburg tried to overcome a 14 point halftime deficit. After seeing the Yellow Jackets pull within three points in the third quarter, O-G halted the come back as they went to post a 58-50 non-league win Thursday night.

Perrysburg had a 7-6 lead in the opening quarter before the Titans finished the first eight minutes with a 17-2 run for a 23-9 lead. The Titans knocked down four three-pointers during the run as Jay Kaufman had two of them, while Ethan White and Carter Heringhaus both had a three. Kaufman had 13 points in the opening quarter for O-G as he knocked down three three-pointers and finished off an old-fashioned three point play.

Both teams scored 16 points in the second quarter as the Titans had a 39-25 halftime lead. Perrysburg was a different team in the second half as they opened the third quarter with a 10-0 run that had them within four points at 39-35. O-G was able to push their lead back to nine points at 45-36 before the Yellow Jackets went on a 6-0 run to pull within 45-42 on two Zach Pohlman free throws.

That would be as close as they would get as a Kaufman three-pointer and two free throws by the senior had the Titans up 50-52 going to the final quarter. Both teams scored eight points in the fourth quarter as O-G was able to work the clock to take time off it.

Kaufman led the Titans with 24 points and nine rebounds as he was the only O-G player in double digits.

Jackson Sizemore led the Yellow Jackets with 13 points, while Pohlman and Seth Morgan both had 11 points.
