COLDWATER - Crestview lefty Damian Helm escaped a bases loaded second inning jam Saturday evening to help the Knights to an 8-2 win over Ottawa-Glandorf in the opening round of the state ACME tournament.

The loss drops O-G (13-7) into the losers bracket where they will face either Bellefontaine or Defiance Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Crestview (19-4) meets the winner at 7:30 p.m.
Crestview took a 2-0 lead in the top of the second inning only to see O-G come back in the bottom of the inning to load the bases with no one out. Helm preserved the lead as he struck out the next three O-G batters.
Crestview took advantage of the situation to build on their lead scoring a run in the third inning and two in the fourth before they broke the game open with a three run seventh inning.
The Titans scored both of their runs in the bottom of the third.
Helm was solid on the mound for the Knights as he worked six innings allowing two runs on five hits with six strikeouts.
Adrian Camp had three hits in the win for Crestview, while Mitchell Rickard and Nate Owens both had two hits.
Tanner Schimmoeller took the loss for O-G as he went 3 2/3 innings. Matt Warnecke finished the game.
Ben Deitering had a double and two RBI for the Titans.
