ST. MARYS - Ottawa-Glandorf's Matias Trampe-Kindt finished strong Saturday morning to win the boys race at the Western Buckeye League cross country championships Saturday morning in St. Marys.
Trampe-Kindt outkicked Defiance's Nate Wichman over the final 500 meters to win the boys race in a school record time of 16:11.43. The time eclipsed Trampe-Kindt's school record time of 16:23 he set earlier in the season.
Trampe-Kindt becomes the first O-G boy to win an individual title in the WBL since 1969 when Bob Miley won the race.
As a team the Titans finished sixth with 165 points. Defiance won the WBL team title slipping past Van Wert 35-44.
The O-G girls finished ninth in the 10 team field with 236 points. The Lady Titans were led by junior Jill Rosselit with a 29th place finish in 22:16.61.
