FOSTORIA - Ottawa-Glandorf's track teams had a successful run at the Division II district meet in Fostoria Friday evening.
The Titan squads advanced athletes in a total of 15 events from the district meet to the regional meet this coming week in Lexington. The Lexington Division II regional meet will be held Thursday and Saturday as athletes look to advance to the state meet in Columbus.
The Lady Titans advanced in nine events from Fostoria to Lexington. O-G won four district championships as Michelle Maag won the long jump and Torie Allgire won the pole vault. On the track, O-G won the 800 Relay with the team of Danielle Ellerbrock, Michelle Maag, Elissa Ellerbrock and Madison Stechschulte. The two Ellerbrock's then teamed with Anna Bellman and Kelly Schmitz to win the 1600 Relay. Ellerbrock finished second in the 800 and was a member of the 3200 Relay as she advanced to regionals in four events. Stechschulte and Maag are three event qualifiers for O-G.
As a team, the Lady Titans finished second in the District 1 meet with 110 points, 23 points behind champion Liberty-Benton.
The Titan boys advanced to the regional meet in six events.
O-G had one district champion as Jacob Leopold won the 800 in 1:56.92. Leopold also helped the O-G boys to a second place in the 3200 Relay with the team of Colton Haselman, Brad Recker and Matias Trampe-Kindt. Trampe-Kindt also finished second in the 3200 meter run and was third in the 1600 meter run.
As a team, O-G finished fifth in the district meet with 55 points.
