DEFIANCE — Ottawa-Glandorf struggled offensively in the first and third quarters Friday night as the Titans fell to Defiance in Western Buckeye League action 56-36.

The loss drops the Titans to 2-2 in the WBL and 7-5 overall with their second straight loss. The Bulldogs remain in a first place tie in the WBL at 3-1 and they are 9-2 overall.

Ottawa-Glandorf was held to single digit scoring in three of the four quarters Friday night, but it was the first and third quarters that put them in a hole as they were held to a combined 10 points.

Defiance had a double digit lead after the opening quarter as they outscored the Titans 15-5. Trey Guilliam helped the Bulldogs to the early lead as he scored his teams final 10 points of the opening quarter as he hit a pair of three-pointers.

Ottawa-Glandorf’s offense picked up in the second quarter, but they could only outscore the Bulldogs 17-16 as the Titans trailed 31-22 at the break. Noah Bramlage had seven points for O-G in the second quarter and Alex Schroeder five, but Katwan Singleton had nine points for the Bulldogs in the quarter and Guilliam had seven points.

Needing a good start to the third quarter to continue any comeback hopes, the Titan offense sputtered again as they were held to five points by the Bulldog defense, while the Bulldogs scored 17 points for a 48-27 lead. The Titans were 1-of-13 shooting in the third quarter as Schroeder hit the Titans only basket, a three-pointer. The Bulldogs opened the quarter with an 8-0 run and finished it with a 9-0 run for their big lead.

Guilliam paced the Bulldogs with a game high 24 points and Singleton had 17 points and six rebounds for Defiance.

Bramlage and Schroeder, with four three-pointers, paced the Titans with 14 points each. The Titans were only 13-of-50 shooting from the field for 26 percent. They were 6-of-24 shooting from two-point range in the game.

The Titans junior varsity renained undefeated with a win over Defiance.

O-G is back in action Saturday night as they return home to face Lima Senior in non-league action. This will be the Titans first home game since the Archbold game on December 27.
