Ottawa Legion falls to Toledo

OTTAWA - Ottawa's American Legion Fighting 63rd held a comfortable two-run lead in the seventh inning, but a big comeback by Toledo Post 335 ended Ottawa's hopes in a 8-5 loss Wednesday at Memorial Field.
Cody Bockrath went a perfect 3-3 at the dish for Ottawa. He singled in the third, sixth, and eighth innings.
Derek Schimmoeller brought the heat against Toledo Post 335 during his outing. Schimmoeller gave up just one hit, allowed one earned run, walked four and struck out six during his four innings of work.
Case got the win in relief for Toledo Post 335. Case pitched two innings and allowed one run.
Toledo Post 335 was sparked by Kuebler and Lewis, who teamed up for three hits and three RBIs each.
In the top of the first, Toledo Post 335 grabbed the early lead, 1-0.
Toledo Post 335 stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the eighth, scoring six runs on an RBI double by Cousino and four singles.
