OTTOVILLE - Tuesday night the Ottoville girls basketball team won a Division IV poll championship. Thursday night the Big Green went about completing an undefeated season.
Ottoville pulled away from McComb in the second half Thursday night to claim a 60-45 non-league win over the Panthers. The win allows the Big Green to finish the regular season 21-0, the programs second straight undefeated regular season and their third in the last four years.
Ottoville had a 22-20 halftime lead before pulling away in the second half. The Big Green outscored the Panthers 17-11 in the third quarter giving them an eight point lead. Ottoville put the game away in the final quarter with a 21-14 scoring advantage.
Rachel Beining led the Big Green with 16 points and Rachel Turnwald added 12 points. Nicole Vorst and Abby Siefker both had nine points for Ottoville.
Emily Clymer led the Panthers with 19 points.
Ottoville opens tournament action Tuesday night in the Division IV sectional at Bluffton against Lima Perry.
