PANDORA - Pandora-Gilboa's football team bounced back in a big way Saturday night.

One week fate being humbled by unbeaten Arlington in a Blanchard Valley Conference contest, the Rockets hosted Warren JFK in a rare Saturday night non-league matchup. The Rockets were a different team this week as they dominated play in a 27-13 win over the Eagles.
P-G is now 3-1 on the season.
The Rockets play in the trenches was key as P-G's offensive line helped the Rockets rush for over 300 yards in the game, while P-G's defense was able to get a lot of pressure on JFK quarterback Greg Roscoe not allowing him to find his speedy core of wide outs for big plays.
JFK took a quick 6-0 lead on the Rockets as they hit a big pass play on their first play from scrimmage that had them first and goal at the P-G four yard line. Roscoe finished the drive with a quarterback sneak on fourth and goal.
P-G answered the Eagles quick scoring drive with one of their own. The Rockets went 80 yards in eight plays as Seth Schmenk scored on a two yard run.
The Rockets went up 14-6 on their next possession as Schmenk hit Jared Osborn with a 38 yard scoring pass. Schmenk faked a run after being flushed out of the pocket, before pulling up and hitting a wide open Osborn after the Eagle defense bit on Schmenk running the ball.
P-G went up 20-6 early in the fourth quarter after recovering a fumble after a Rocket punt hit an Eagle defender down field blocking.
The Rockets avoided a turnover themselves on the drive after an Eagle defender knocked the ball away from Jacob Basinger on a run up the middle. Brian Schneck recovered the loose ball at the Eagle 18 and Schmenk finished the drive with a burst up the middle for his second touchdown of the night.
The Eagles responded with a long scoring drive that saw Roscoe dive over from a yard out on fourth and goal to make the score 20-13. The big play in the drive was a 54 yard pass play to wide receiver Carl Zallow. Basinger chased down Zallow from behind to save the touchdown and nearly forced a turnover when he knocked the ball loose. The Eagles recovered the fumble and went on to score.
JFK attempted an onside kick with P-G recovering at midfield. Schmenk put the game away with a 50 yard run for a touchdown and a 27-13 P-G lead.
Schmenk had a big night for the Rockets with 203 yards rushing on 23 carries and Basinger added 110 yards on 22 carries.
Roscoe was 14-of-26 passing for the Eagles for 207 yards.
