Schierloh hits, pitches O-G to victory

GLANDORF - Ottawa-Glandorf's Drew Schierloh pitched and hit the Titans to a 14-0 non-league, five inning win over Miller City Friday night.Schierloh (1-0) was solid on the mound for the Titans (2-0) as he pitched four innings allowing no runs on three hits with eight strikeouts and three walks. Tyson Yungman pitched a scoreless fifth inning.
At the plate, Schierloh had three of the Titans 15 hits in the game, all singles. Tyler Zender knocked out a pair of doubles and Cory Imm had two singles and two RBI. Brad Croy added a pair of singles and Jake Hashbarger had a double.
After two scoreless innings, the Titans took control of the game scoring 11 runs in the third inning.
Adam Drummelsmith took the loss for Miller City (2-1). Drummelsmith allowed eight runs on seven hits. Hunter Berner worked in relief for Miller City allowing six runs on six hits.
All three hits for the Wildcats were singles.
CONTINENTAL - Abe Basinger scattered five hits Friday afternoon as Pandora-Gilboa defeated Continental 8-2 in Putnam County League action.
Basinger picked up the win for the Rockets (2-2) as he allowed two runs on five hits with five strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings. Brian Schneck finished the game for Basinger.
Schneck went 4 for 5 at the plate for the Rockets as he had three singles, a double and three RBI.
The Rockets took a 1-0 lead in the third inning and broke the game open with four runs in the fifth inning. After Continental scored twice in the bottom of the fifth, P-G ended the game with three runs in the seventh inning.
