Leipsic, Miller City and Ottoville all posted season opening wins Friday night as the 2012-13 boys high school basketball season opened.
Ottoville held Cory-Rawson to single digits in three of four quarters as the Big Green posted a 42-29 win. Ryan Honigford had 14 points for the Big Green and Derek Schimmoeller added 12 points.
Miller City overcame an early deficit to defeat Tinora 68-51. The Wildcats trailed 15-8 after one quarter before using a 24-6 run in the second quarter to win the game. Ross Kaufman had 14 points for Miller City, while Austin Lammers and Ross Vennekotter both had 12 points.
Leipsic opened the season with a 50-33 win over Holgate. Devin Mangas had 18 points to lead the Vikings.
Paulding held Continental's offense in check in the first and third quarters for a 61-49 win. The Panthers outscored the Pirates 13-5 in the first quarter and 16-8 in the third quarter for the win. Chaz Slattman had 13 points and 16 rebounds for the Pirates. Tyler Dockery added 11 points and Tyler Rue 10 points.
Arlington used a strong inside-outside game to defeat Fort Jennings 56-35. Michael Blunk powered the Red Devils inside with a game high 18 points and Blaiz McBride had the outside covered with 12 points. Connor Wallenhorst led the Musketeers with 12 points.
