There were seven games on the Thursday night schedule as high school basketball, locally, resumed after the holiday break.
At the Ayersville Holiday Tournament, Continental and Leipsic advanced to the finals with wins in the opening round Thursday night. The Pirates defeated Hilltop 61-47, while the Vikings topped host Ayersville in the second game 50-34. The Pirates and Vikings will meet for the championship Friday night in the second game. The same two teams met in the finals last season.
In non holiday tournament games Thursday, Ottoville remained undefeated with a 58-32 win over Ada. Ottawa-Glandorf traveled up St. Rt. 65 and posted a 57-23 win over Columbus Grove, while Fort Jennings made the long trip to McComb and returned home on the short end of a 69-56 score.
Pandora-Gilboa played host to Allen East Thursday night and posted a 60-47 win over the Mustangs. Megan Maag led the P-G attack with 25 points.
There was one boys game on the schedule Thursday night as Miller City went to Fostoria to face St. Wendelin. The Wildcats dominate play as they defeated St. Wendelin 73-41 behind 18 points from Ross Kaufman.
