Five league games were on the schedule Thursday night as high school girls basketball took centerstage in the area.
Among the spotlight games Thursday night was a Putnam County League battle between Ottoville and Fort Jennings. The top ranked Big Green jumped out to a quick lead as they cruised to a 64-25 PCL win. The win moved the Big Green to 6-0 in the league, which gives them at-least a share of the league title going into a Feb. 2 PCL matchup with Leipsic. This is the fourth straight season the Big Green have won at-least a share of the league title.
In Western Buckeye League action, Ottawa-Glandorf travelled to Wapakoneta and dropped a 59-56 decision. The loss ended a seven game winning streak for the Titans.
In Blanchard Valley Conference action, Pandora-Gilboa topped McComb in a close game 55-52 and Leipsic overcame an early deficit to defeat Cory-Rawson 43-39.
In Northwest Conference action, Columbus Grove made the drive to Harrod to face Allen East. The Mustangs protected their homecourt with a 54-44 win over the Bulldogs.
