DEFIANCE — Ottawa-Glandorf's track teams both qualified in nine events to the Division II regional meet at Welcome Stadium in Dayton from the district meet at Defiance this coming week.
The regional meet will be held Thursday and Saturday in Dayton as athletes look to advance to the state meet. The regional meet on Thursday gets underway at 4 p.m.
Ottawa-Glandorf's girls team won five district titles at the two-day meet Wednesday and Friday. Madison Stechschulte had a hand in four of those wins for the Titans at Defiance.
Stechschulte won the 100 dash (12.37) and 200 dash (25.51), while being a part of the winning 800 and 1600 Relays. Stechschulte joined Megan Siefker, Michelle Maag and Elissa Ellerbrock to win the 800 relay in 1:47.31 and she joined Maag, Anna Bellman and Ellerbrock to win the 1600 relay in 4:07.22.
Bellman picked up the fifth win for the Titans as she won the discus with a throw of 124-7. Bellman also finished third in the shot put (35-7 1/2).
Ellerbrock finished second in the 800 meter run (2:20.19) and she joined Alex Verhoff, Kialee Koch and Kelly Schmitz to finish third in the 3200 relay (9:58.18). Melissa Knott finished second in the 100 hurdles (15.7), while Schmitz, Siefker, Amanda Sahloff and Veronica Knott were fourth in the 400 relay in 52.79.
As a team the Lady Titans finished second in the district meet with 100.5 points. Wauseon won the district title with 119 points.
The O-G boys had just two wins at the district meet as Brad Recker won the 800 meter run (2:00.33) and he joined Sid Moening, Trevor Ellerbrock and Matias Trampe-Kindt to win the 3200 relay in 8:13.82. Recker also joined Ellerbrock, Moening and Austin McDermott to finish third in the 1600 relay (3:31.49).
Moening had a pair of second place finishes at the meet as he was the runner-up in the 300 hurdles in 41.35 and the high jump as he cleared 6-2.
Logan McDermott finished second in the 110 high hurdles (15.08), while Trampe-Kindt was fourth in the 1600 (4:26.27) and 3200 meter (10:24.46) runs.
Ben Recker finished third in the shot put with a throw of 47-8 and Colin Laubenthal was fourth in the pole vault clearing 13-8.
As a team the Titans tied Wauseon for the team title with 84 points each.
