OTTAWA - The top two teams in Division IV are set to lock horns tonight as Ottawa-Glandorf and Columbus Bishop Hartley meet at Piqua's Alexander Stadium in the Region 14 regional finals. The winner of the game advances to next weeks state semi-finals in Division IV.
The number one ranked Hawks and number two ranked Titans enter the game with 12-0 records. Overall they are very similar in their style of play.
The Hawks are a run oriented team as they are led by running back Ja'waun Woodley, the Division IV Central District Player of the Year on offense. Woodley was limited to just 77 yards in the Hawks regional semi-final win, but has rushed for over 1,700 yards on the season. Woodley, who also plays linebacker on defense, is a University of Toledo recruit for next season. The Hawks have only attempted 80 passes this season as Dominique Scott is their leading receiver.
The Titan offense has been led by senior running back Tristan Parker and senior quarterback Caleb Siefker. Parker has rushed for 1,877 yards this season as he was named co-Offensive Player of the Year in Division IV in Northwest Ohio. Siefker has rushed for 1,183 yards this season and has thrown for 924 yards.
O-G's defense is playing exceptionally well as they have only allowed 12 points in two playoff games and just over 11.6 ppg on the season. Senior lineman Wyatt Karhoff was named the Division IV Defensive Player of the Year. The Hawk defense has allowed just 19 points in their two tournament games.
O-G advanced to the regional finals with a 41-12 win over Genoa, while Bishop Hartley defeated North Union 43-0.
