Titans lone unbeaten in WBL

WAPAKONETA - Two plays helped Ottawa-Glandorf fend off a stubborn Wapakoneta squad Friday night in Western Buckeye League action.

A scoring pass and a long touchdown run gave the Titans a two score lead as O-G went on to defeat the Redskins 27-7 on Homecoming night for Wapakoneta. The win moved the Titans, ranked fifth in Division IV, to 5-0 in the WBL and 6-0 overall. O-G is the lone unbeaten in the WBL after Elida fell to Kenton Friday night 50-21.
With the Titans and Redskins tied 7-7, the Titans took a 14-7 lead into halftime as Caleb Siefker hit Jacob Leopold with a 10 yard touchdown pass with five seconds left in the half. Siefker set up a short Titan scoring drive with an interception.
Then on the first play of the second half, Tristan Parker went 74 yards for a score that put O-G up 21-7. Parker finished the night with 180 yards rushing.
The rest was up to the Titan defense and they performed really well as they shut down the Redskin offense after their lone scoring drive in the second quarter. Wyatt Karhoff had a big night on defense with 12 tackles and a pair of sacks.
O-G added a fourth quarter touchdown when Josh Buckland took a short pass from Siefker and went 33 yards for a touchdown.
All four Putnam County football teams came home a winner Friday night as Columbus Grove broke a three game losing streak by topping Evergreen 30-21 in non-league action. Joey Warnecke had a big night for the Bulldogs with 147 yards rushing. Dakota Vogt added 142 yards and three touchdowns.
Leipsic remained undefeated on the season with a 42-0 defeat of Hardin Northern in Blanchard Valley Conference action. The fourth ranked Vikings are 5-0 in the BVC and 6-0 overall. Jordan Chamberlin and Devin Mangas both scored twice for the Vikings.
Pandora-Gilboa won for the second straight week as they defeated Vanlue 51-0 in BVC action. The Rockets are now 3-2 in the BVC and 3-3 on the season.
